On Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23, we had our 1st Annual Lake Monroe summer overnight.
Our Saturday weather was very warm and we took it easy. We paddled from Cutright out to camp on the tip of peninsula. We decided to stay in that site since we could enjoy the cooling effect of the 10 mph that we were experiencing. After setting up camp, we paddled about an hour and swam in the Middle Fork before paddling back to camp. We did take a 4-5 mile paddle down to Patton cave and bacjaround 7:00 pm after the temperature had dropped a tad.
We enjoyed a series of four thunderstorm overnight and had to wait out a 9:00 am storm before we could paddle back to Cutright in the morning. Next year, we may look for a cooler time for this trip.

Okay, I only shot 4 pictures but I've paddled Monroe a bunch of times. There aren't many ways that a photo can capture the excitement of a thunderstorm while you're trying to sleep in a hammock.
