I received an e-mail about the buy-out of Confluence Kayaks by Pelican International. Pelican is known for it's low end recreational kayaks while Cofluence is the maker of Wilderness Systems, Perception, Dagger, Mad River Canoe, Harmony Gear, and Boardworks. These are major names in the Sea Kayak and Whitewater markets so it will be interesteing to watch for changes - one hopeful change might be the introduction of medium price boats into Pelican's outlet channels and the integration of the safety features inherent in higher-end boats into the Pelican products.
