Driftwood River

The Driftwood River is a fun trip for all skill levels.  We start on Sugar Creek at Furnas Mill and take out 14 miles downstream near Columbus at Lowel Bridge.  Be aware that Blue’s Canoes puts people on the river about a mile below our put in. This means that there will be lots of people sharing the river for about half of our paddle especially since our date is so close to the holiday. Be prepared with a hat, sunscreen, water, lunch, and gloves in addition to your usual paddling gear.  Beginners are welcome as long as they have the endurance for a longer paddle. Water levels at this time of year can be a challenge so if there is a challenge, the trip leader will put out a notice by 7pm on Friday, July 5.

Meeting location: Shell station just off I-65 at exit 80 just north of Columbus, IN (Once participants arrive we will caravan to Furnas Mill on Sugar Creek.
