Chain of Lakes September 17-23, 2024

*This is an early trip announcement because of the difficulty getting sites at this small campground that is right on the water. Reservations should be made as soon as possible. Waterfront sites still available.

Level 3 trip

Join us  to paddle the Chain of Lakes Water Trail a 99+ mile inland water trail made up of 12 lakes and interconnected rivers. The chain includes Torch Lake and we plan on spending one day there with a lunch/ice cream stop at the general store in Alden. We plan on four days of paddling (possibility of a night paddle from the campground) with a day off to hike, bike or explore the surrounding area. Chalevoix is half hour away and Petoskey is an hour away.
Camping will be at Thurston Park ,( 7854 E Bradford St, Central Lake, MI 4962) a very nice small campground in Central Lake Michigan. There are six waterfront sites available at $35 a night and several off water sites at $28 a night.
