Raccoon Creek Clean Up

Time: 0900 am until complete

Description: This will be a second round of clean up in preparation for the upcoming annual Covered Bridge Festival Paddle which will also be our 60th HCKC Anniversary Paddle and Shirley Gates’ Memorial Paddle. During the August clean up, the team identified there were several trees down that need cut out of the way. John has the chainsaws needed but needs several folks with a willingness to get wet and dirty helping to pull the debris out of the river. Come dressed prepared for the weather and the water. This will help ensure a safe, navigable, and fun paddle for everyone participating in October!

Plan: we will meet at the Cecil M. Harden Lake Out flow which is off Ferndale Road before you cross the Raccoon Creek. The best way to get there is take US 36 to the intersection of State Road 59 in the town of Bellmore, IN. Go south on ST Rd 59 from Bellmore to Ferndale Road and turn East and follow Ferndale Road until you see the bridge going over Raccoon and we will be there. Please be there at 9am so we can set up shuttle and get started.
