Essentials of River Rescue and Safety – ACA L2 rescue course
Where: Indianapolis area
When: 9am
Grade: flat to slow moving water
Timing: 8 hours
Cost: $25
This is intended for all canoe and kayak paddlers especially those wanting to experience some WW. It will be an ACA L2 Skills course and assessment.
Instruction/ assessment at an appropriate level in:
Trip planning and safety
Methods of rescue, including (but not limited to) Wading, throwlines, kayak/canoe based.
Safe Swimming.
Pre-requisites
Confident swimming ability.
L1 canoe or kayak skills
PFD, and Helmet required.
Appropriate clothing for the weather.
Spray skirt not essential but may be preferable for kayaks.
To gain an ACA certificate you will need to be an ACA member. Course charges include ACA insurance.
Covid Waiver to be signed and facemask to be worn during shuttle.
