The South Bass Island Kayak Rendezvous (SBIKR) is an annual tradition of long boats on big water.

 Although this is not an official HCKC event, about 8 club paddlers are already signed .   If you are thinking about attending, send a note out to the Sea Kayak mailing list if you want to line up people to camp/paddle with or if you want to find people to paddle out to South Bass Island from the main land with.

Campsites go FAST.  You can reserve 6 months ahead.  

This is an informal event and there are a lot of paddling option during the event.   Some of you will want to do lots of crossings to see and go around lots of islands.  Some maybe not so many.  There is something for everyone and you'll make lots of new Great Lakes friends.

Would be fun to see you all on this fine summer weekend.  To get a good lake campsite you should reserve todayas soon as possible.  On December 6, you can start your reservation for Thursday June 6.  Tomorrow you can start your reservation for Friday June 7.

This event is open to any and all kayakers.

The big thing now is to get a good campsite.  The sites vary from fantastic sites with great views to a small patch on a busy road with a bachelorette party on the next site...   The Cincy types are in sites 97 to 100.
