Canoe Ride Guides Needed For
Celebrate The Wildcat Festival
Hey Wildcat Paddlers,
The plans and organization for the annual Celebrate The Wildcat Festival have begun. This Festival will be held at Adams Mill on Wildcat Creek,
from 10AM to 4 PM, on Saturday June 9th.
One of the most fun activities at this Festival are the "Canoe Rides" provided by the Wildcat Guardians. Launching at the Adams Mill PAS,
the Rides go around the beautiful Oxbow and under the Adams Mill
Covered Bridge, then ending after 1.2-miles near the back side of the
huge red Mill Building.
CELEBRATE THE WILDCAT FESTIVAL
Adams Mill on Wildcat Creek
Saturday June 9th
Canoe Rides from 10AM to 4PM

Guests of all ages enjoy the Canoe Rides around the Oxbow
The Guardians are looking for "Guides" to Paddle the stern of the Canoes in which the "Guests" will be riding. The Guardians have a fleet of 8 Tandem Canoes that will be available for the Rides. However, we need several other Guides who will bring their own Tandem Canoes and gear.
This is a fantastic Volunteer activity. Many of the Guests have never
been in a Canoe before, and most are not familiar with free-flowing
Streams and the Nature around them. Sharing our stories about the Creek, the Fish, the Snakes, Frogs, Bugs.......is truly satisfying,
as much for the Guides as for the Guests.
If you would like to Volunteer to be a Guide for these Canoe Rides,
or if you have any further questions, call Mike or email Garry as soon as possible. Please let us know if you would like to use a Guardian Canoe,
or if you could bring your own Tandem Canoe and gear.
We also need a few Volunteers to "Load & Unload" the Canoes.
If you would rather help with this than to be a Guide, just let us know.
More detailed information will be provided to all volunteers
during the week prior to the Festival.
Wildcat Paddler Mike Laughner is the Canoe Ride Chairman. You can call Mike Laughner at home...765-883-7445, or on his cell.......765-210-9817.
Please call Mike and Volunteer.

Directions To Adams Mill Public Access Site
Indiana Atlas & Gazetteer Page 32
Find the jct of SR-26 & SR-75, 3-½ miles east of Rossville. Turn North on SR-75. At about 3.5 miles, SR-75 makes a slight curve to the left. At the start of this curve, go straight onto a county road. In 1/2-mile, follow a curve to the right, which leads you onto CR 500-S. You will come to a stop sign in about 100-yards (this is in the town of Cutler). Continue Straight on 500-S for 3/4-mile. Watch for the Adams Mill sign at CR 75-E. Turn Left and go 1/2-mile to Adams Mill. The Public Access parking lot will be on the right, after crossing a small bridge, across the road from the Mill.
If coming from Kokomo this might be better for you (via SR-22):
Take SR-22 West from Kokomo, to SR-29 in Burlington. Turn Left (South) onto SR-29. In one block, turn Right (West) at the first street
(The Dinner Bell Restaurant is on the corner). Follow this winding road
west for apprx 6.5 miles. Watch for the Adams Mill sign at CR 75-E.
Turn Right (North) onto 75-E, and go 1/2-mile to Adams Mill.
The Public Access parking lot will be on the right, after crossing
a small bridge, across the road from the Mill.
