Ocoee River-Rowdy Class 3 [Not your Nanty class 3 ;-) ]

Trip Leader: Elroy Shayes. Text 812*343*6544 Location: Ocoee, Tennessee
When: July 12 - July 14 2024 Some of us may arrive Friday the 12th for an afternoon run.
Camp at: Adventures Unlimited, Ocoee, TN or some may stay at the Quality Inn in Ocoee, TN, 2 min. from the AU campground.
A Whitewater Classic! Did you miss the Week of Rivers and are still jones’in for whitewater? There’s a reason the Ocoee is the most popular whitewater run in the U.S. You’ll need a reliable pool roll at a minimum and several successful runs down the Lower Yough or equivalent. If you are new to the Ocoee be sure to text Elroy to talk about it. Rob, Ken & Elroy are experienced taking folks on their PFD (personal first descent) on the middle and will avoid the difficult beginning rapids, Grumpy’s & Broken Nose, to give you an easier run.
Elroy said, ”We’ll do the middle Ocoee for sure. We'll talk about doing the Upper and may run it, but we won't be guiding anyone on their virgin Olympic Section run as some of us are recovering from prior unrelated mishaps & don’t need the stress & exertion of rescues on the Upper. #ConvalescingKayakers, lol
Currently: Rob Friedman, Sergey Voynov Elroy Shayes and Ken Jordan are joining in for the fun.
