I am a fairly new paddler I’ve done flat water and creeks to this point about 4 years worth . I’m interested in class 2-3 rapids and have entertained the idea of wave surfing Lake Michigan . My primary water is Sugar Creek at Crawfordsville no class rapids just some high water runs from November to end of May . Looking for suggestions on what type of boat might fit this type of paddling.

    Thanks

For class 3 rapids you need a whitewater river runner. You need to go to some outfitter and try a few.

Hi, I started with a rec boat on local creeks. Running the Flatrock I would see some splash and want to hit them. But in a rec boat you had to plan ahead. Like you I wanting to move into ww so I bought a Liquid Logic Remix 9. It moves across the water were you want it to. I've ran the Nantahala and it was great. I joined the club to use the pool sessions and learn to roll it. I have been very happy with it.
